I Googled Myself and...

So I'm not going to lie, I think we all at a time googled ourself. Could've been just for fun or pure boredom. Anyways so I googled myself and I haven't done that since freshman year of high school. Back then the things that come up were my track records from track and field and I was involved in student government so my picture came up and under my name showed "Senior Class Officer."

Today when I googled myself, I found out nothing bad per say but just my Instagram came up which I was surprised with, then my Facebook along with the other Gabrielle Shen's. Then my Pinterest showed, and all my past presentations from Prezi showed up as well. Those were all the things I found out about me, and nothing really showed up in images. I guess you could say I am pretty under the radar on the web world, which is kinda nice, but also kinda worry some because as a pursuing photographer I hope to get my name more out there and make my work I guess "be known."I wasn't too bummed or anything, but I was surprised I guess that I showed up even at all compared to everyone else in this world.

I hope and want to create an online awareness more now especially while being in college and with the plans that I have, its kind've necessary to I guess portray my online presence and how well I am communicating through social media's. I think the way I handle my current social media's are pretty good. I post regularly and always post my pictures on both Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. I do that to eventually be reached out and start taking pictures for local business or just small jobs, and while my post show I have somewhat skill. I don't really advertise that I am reachable for jobs like that. So I think I need to make those ways of being reached known on my social media's because I can't expect them to fall into my lap.

My goals of creating a more of an online awareness is to just make myself reachable on my social medias. Like I know there is DMing but advertising that I am here and ready to work I think will make a difference in reaching my goal of becoming a photographer. Also I have been working on a portfolio online and I should leave the link in my bio's to show people a little more of what I'm about.

  1. Aloha Gabby,

Yes, good to see someone brave enough to try out the blogger responsive themes! Please use this class to organize and create your photography and use the activities to help you reach your goal please! I really look forward to seeing your pictures.

    I'm asking this question:

Being a good “guest” and being a positive member of an online community can be a huge part of building your online brand. The Golden Rule – treat other people the way you’d like to be treated – is a good start, but how can you look for ways to be helpful and contribute to the online communities that you’re a part of now and in the future?

    Thanks,
    Greg
