Build Your Own Personal Brand

When people look me up I would hope they see a girl who has a lot of life, passion, and love in her heart. If I was doing my dream job of photojournalism then I would hope people would just be inspired and feel something even the slightest thing.

Not just another like average "That was a cool story." I want to spark something even if it isn't expressed maybe in that time. That would be my goal. Then I would hope that they would see my business. My best friend and I have been talking more and more lately about starting our own productions. To take picture and videos and it doesn't bother me that a lot of people do that, but if we get to follow our dreams too then what does it matter? So I would hope that, that would come up as well. We haven't made solid plans, but it does come up in our talks quite often.

I would say that my area of expertise that I feel pretty solid in would be my photography. I have a foundation and honestly I can only keep improving from here and I feel I have, I see it slowly, but I do need to put more work in it. I would say my communication skills are pretty solid. There is rarely a miscommunication  between my family and I. Also, I feel really comfortable when talking and meeting with new people. I feel I'm pretty good at social media wise would be community. I love when there is a group of people gathered for the same cause and reasons. I love talking to other people, I could definitely use more work when it comes to social media community, but I just need to apply the real life aspects to it.

Doing life together and capturing life moments in the process is what I love to do. If I can do all that while making someone smile, inspired, stir something up then I will have done that job. I want there to be a community of fun, caring, passionate people. Bringing something different to the table, but while working towards something great!
(These are just some pictures I've taken lately... Enjoy!)

    1. Hi,
By productions I mean like our own business that takes pictures and videos for weddings or even local business. Just to start somewhere.

  2. Hi Gabby! Nice pictures! I like your position statement - it sounds like a perfect slogan for a photographer! Where would you love to go if you could choose your first job assignment as a photo journalist? Why?

    1. I think somewhere in Ireland, Iceland or even In Africa with any social issues or even visiting some tribes for some non profit organization. I just really love the landscape of those places and I feel there is just so much stories that I could uncover there while obviously showing the beauty of those places.

  3. Hey Gabby, I think it's great that you chose photography as your expertise and stated your strengths and weaknesses. This will definitely allow you to grow and develop new skills as a photographer. If you started this business with your friend do you think you would focus on photography, videos, or the promoting aspects which include writing? This might give you some experience and a better idea of what it would be like as a photojournalist. Great photos by the way! - No'eau

  4. Thank you!!

and honestly we probably would be doing both! My friend is pretty good at video and I think photo is my strength and her weakness. We complement each other with this kinda stuff, but we even talked about doing like using our skills for marketing for companies or any gigs that we partner up with.

  5. Hi Gabby,
I enjoyed reading your blog about photos. I remember when my girl had to have her first digital camera (Not the cheap ones either) and used it to take snapshots of her high school days. How do you chose which photos to post to express yourself, but at the same time keeping yourself digitally safe?
