Social Media Campaign Analysis
Some things that I realized during this campaign is that…
WOW it sure does take a lot of thought and commitment to do social media. It
was fun, but to have a purpose and to be successful definitely takes a lot more.
So the post that I found to be more successful were my Instagram
and Facebook post. If I used my original platform on Instagram instead of
creating a whole new account for it, I think I probably could’ve seen more
results, but for starting from scratch I think it’s what to be expected. I
think because I already had a bigger audience on Instagram because that is my
main use of social media, I guess somehow a lot of people and friends/family started
following my account for the campaign and gained followers only this past week.
But in general I think Instagram is just such a huge platform and so many
people young and old are using it. It’s just so easy to find what you are
looking for through hashtags it makes it easier to find people or post. So that’s
why I think it was better for me on Instagram. As for Facebook I had so many responses
and comments on my post. For some reason it reached to much more people even
though I don’t use Facebook at all and only joined it like this year.
Some trends
I noticed were all from really famous accounts. They were either from people
that I follow that was trending or YouTuber’s that are famous or in general. As
for twitter I don’t really know there are plenty things that trend hourly. I
think most of it was news or just new things with the kids these days. None of
my post were shared the most, but I did gain likes more than shares. Maybe some on twitter would get retweeted a
couple times and they would be quotes. I also was expecting to have a lot of
spam accounts to follow me but surprisingly they were real and active people.
As for my
photos on Instagram what generated the most likes was my film photography post
and my post of my friend at the beach, and pictures of my sunsets. She was in a
bikini so I can imagine a girl in a bikini during beautiful sunset what’s not
to love? Those 2 post were the most popular and most liked. I also discovered
starting from scratch like a whole thing for yourself is a lot harder and definitely
takes another level of commitment. It’s different like having your own Instagram
for personal vs having one for business and stuff. Like posting so much
consistently was a little difficult and sometimes I would run out of ideas of
what to post to be honest. It got hard to post throughout the day because I got
this new job conveniently around finals time which wasn’t the best, but it was
for summer and I would be in school all day and it just got a little difficult.
Also Pinterest was a little difficult, I really feel it did not fit in with my campaign.
And I never really knew what to pin there wasn’t anything specific to post, my
brand was too broad.
Twitter: 54 post with 147 favorites and following (both were
added together)
Instagram: 22 post post with 169 likes total and 33
followers
Facebook: 20 post and overall 285 likes
Overall, even though I don’t think I did the best of work, I
do have an idea of what I would do. I guess my goal was to post how youtubers
post or instafamous people post. They post personal and funny things, like
people are just interested in their lives so they get a lot of likes and that’s
how they promote whatever they try to promote. I was already posting like if I
already had an established audience, maybe if I had a different angle and
started a little less intense. I really should’ve scrolled to the beginning
like my role models on Instagram to see how they first started off. Now that I look
back on my data, I feel Facebook was my most successful along with Instagram.
Twitter and Pinterest were my least and I feel Pinterest didn’t really have a
place in my campaign, unless your campaign was really specific then it would
and could be a helpful tool. I think consistency and a purpose behind every post is key to a successful campaign and something I have learned overall in these last past weeks. I learned so much and it was a long process of trial and error but I think I enjoyed myself and it was definitely a valuable learning experience.
