Find Your Life Purpose

When you really look at it and be honest with yourself or in this case myself I have to be honest. I am a Gabby Shen, a junior at UH Manoa, daughter, aunty, friend, sister, granddaughter etc.. I find that I enjoy to dance, play my guitar, talk to people (make friends), take pictures, make videos. I may not be at a super pro level, but I think I can agree along with the people who know me best that I found my niche in life.

I do these things for my family and friends, and also for personal enjoyment. I like to use the talents/gifts I have been given to make people smile, to create memories using them, and for exercise and self-expression and other times as a way to blow off steam. But the ultimate audience would be for my friends and family.

You know I have really have a solid family and some really awesome and amazing friends that all they do is want me to give my best and just to be me. Which is so cliche, but its honestly what they want. I think everyone can and will say that because everyones experiences and friends are special and made for them they are special to that person.

Those people in my life just get to feel special and I am just there and use my gifts to be there for them and encourage them to be the best that they can be. To be there on the good days, and even the not so great days. To be there to encourage or be there to cry with them. We all kind of just do this thing called life together which is a pretty awesome thing.

    Very inspiring post :) You and I are pretty similar if I do say so myself.

    Do you think you might have a future profession mixing all of the things you enjoy doing/ are best at?

      @Danielle Garza Hi! hahah its kind of hard to explain like those areas are my strengths but even then they aren't fully developed. I would say the pictures is probably more developed as in more for a career wise. Everything else could use some training and more practice.
      I actually started playing in the 6th grade because my mom wanted me in some activities and I stopped for a while and picked it up again about 2 years ago and it was fairly easy and was all muscle memory, but I could definitely use more practice haha.

    If you had to brand yourself based on your dance, guitar, talk to people (make friends), taking pictures, making videos, what would that look like? Would you make a vidoe doing some of this?

      Hi!!
      I think if I was too promote myself I think I would make a video that seems to incorporate all those aspects of my life, but probably put a twist on it and make it funny or something. Everyone enjoys some humor.

    Sounds like some great talents you have. I agree - I don't think you need to be at a "pro-level" to bring happiness to others by sharing your gifts. Hoping you can find a career where you get to do something you love and be successful!

So for this assignment I wasn't really sure what to focus on, so I decided to look into photography but more of underwater photography like professional surf and wave photographer Zak Noyle. So honestly I'm not sure exactly how this topic would be enough for the CRAP test, but I think I made it work anyways. What Are You Really Learning at School and Do Standardized Test Matter?

(Background story) So if you are like me growing up school wasn't your best friend. Don't get me wrong I loved school for the social aspect and the fact that I got to see my friends, but when it came to the academic side it was the absolute worst. I went to a private school and the level of education was higher than public school (supposedly). For me I was a visual learner and a hands on person, I hated the fact of just sitting in a math class and doing math problems on a board and chemistry learning formulas.
